Fourth Of July Style

Square

It's almost the Fourth of July and whatever your opinion on the current state of affairs here in the USA, it's a great time to get together with friends and celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. With that in mind, I've curated a few looks for wherever your day may take you. We start with a day at the beach, then to a BBQ and finally, what to wear to watch the show.

A day at the beach...

To me, an all white look on the beach is so effortlessly cool and still super comfortable. I love the fit of Joes Jeans so these bermuda shorts are a big win. The distressed effect on the front is a great way to ease the gals among us that are used to a shorter style but trust me when I say you will be right on trend with the longer pair. Not to mention probably a bit more comfortable.

Universal Threads makes the most perfect and affordable plain white tee. The tiny pocket isn't usually my vibe but on this shirt, it's so OK. It helps that it's literally $8 at Target. Try one and trust me, you'll love it and end up owning it in every color.

A sporty suit is a super fun way to work in those patriotic colors while still getting some fun in the sun. This suit brings in the red white and blue without being so obvious (ah hem I see you, flag bikinis....).

Of course, a great pair of sandals are a must at the beach. I adore these Schutz slides with the tassels. They are so super fun and you can wear these again and again. Pair with some boyfriend jeans and a silk chemise for a casual date night!

Finally, a hat is the perfect partner with major SPF at the beach. I lately love CeraVe with Retinol but whatever works with your skin, just keep yourself covered up! This bag is the cutest and Madewell has partnered with the Surfrider foundation for this bad boy so you're getting fashion AND giving back. Love that!

You're sure to have a great day at the beach in this festive, but not cheesy, Fourth of July look. Remember to pack a cute cardigan in your tote for when the sun goes down and the fireworks start!

What to wear to a house party....

Comfort meets style with a great maxi dress. I adore the designs from Amber Farr of Flynn Skye. Her looks are effortlessly romantic, sexy and always fashionable. The Valentina Maxi is great for the Fourth in Cherry Dot as it feels so festive but will be perfect year round as a great addition to your closet. If you're less about a dress and more about pants, this super cute jumpsuit has the same easy breezy vibe.

I love basically every single bag by Cult Gaia, this one is great for a BBQ with it's nice long strap to keep your hands free ~better to fill your grip with a glass or Rosé or a cold beer 😉 ~

Simple slides are perfect for any terrain and look super chic with the longer length of the looks I chose. Comfortable, elegant and super chic for the whole summer.

Finally, every BBQ I go to, I absolutely require sunnies. The round frame of these Ray Bans is on trend but still a classic look. If this frame doesn't do it for you, the aviator style works on every face shape and is totally timeless.

Added a cute suit in case the house hosting the party has a pool. This suit is so super elegant and the gathered fabric in the front is just forgiving enough in case you eat one too many burgers and feel self conscious.

What to wear to watch the show...

Cozying up a key to getting your look right when it comes time to watch the fireworks. White jeans still feel so fresh and fun while adding that extra coverage you need by night. I love the tulip hem on these Joe's Jeans skinnies to add an extra element of fun.

The oversized Levi's jacket is the perfect outer layer to wear over a vintage tee. I love this Aerosmith football tee, could it be MORE American??

Finally, your KEDS x kate spade tennies will be the perfect touch of fun and glam to round out this Fourth Of July look. Glitter not so much your thing? Swap these out for this super cool pair of Chloe ankle boots. Pricey? Yes. Investment worthy? Absolutely.

However you decide to celebrate, always be safe and of course fashionable.

Happy Fourth Of July!
